It is responsible for administrative affairs of formal and non-formal education to-tally 135 schools including 19 primary, 15+12 secondary, 5 VET, special education, adult education center, school counseling services and plus many private ones by monitoring the implementation of educational policies. It has totally 58 members consisting of a director who is responsible for the management,4 department manager, 6 chiefs and officials working for the planning and coordination of all kinds of educational and training activities. At our public schools 2545 teachers and 41619 students take part within our directorate actively. Within the body of our directorate from kindergartens to high schools, between the age of 4-18, 41381 students get education at 58 different public schools. Considering the formal, non-formal and informal education widespread throughout our district ,the learners’ profile and age group vary within the scope of lifelong learning, starting from kindergarten. 5 VET schools educating in 18 different branches to the VET students provide qualified work force and sector-specific employment. Moreover, at first and second level Special Education School, in addition to teaching activities 56 disadvantaged students get education on the daily living skills they need, Self-care Skills and social adaptation skills etc. Public Education Center and Open high schools have the elder learner profile and provide many different adult training. There are 3465 students studying at private schools and institutions under our directorate.
